March 12, 2012

It has been a really good week.  We taught a lot of people. We have another person that is interested about the gospel and we are going to start teaching them this week. Its going to be interesting teaching her. She has cancer.  I hope that I'll be able to teach her the things she needs.  I know the things that I would like to tell her but I know that the Lord has different plans for me to tell her.
So we are teaching this little girl. I told you about her.  She is 7 years old. She is soooo excited to be baptized. We got to teach her the Plan of Salvation. And I got this Cool puzzle from a missionary. It's made of wood. It's really nice.  She was really interested on how all of it worked and she really wants to go to the Celestial Kingdom.  Then she started showing us the path of her Plan of Salvation that she was going to try to make. It was really sweet.

We had a Mission Conference and Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the twelve came and we had a nice talk. It was really cool. It was wonderful. We had a Question and Answer period. He answered about 6 really good questions. One of the questions was "Elder Ballard what motivates you to do missionary work?"  And he had a very profound Answer. The first 2 words he said was Jesus Christ. I felt the Spirit so strong when he said that. He said something that really stuck out to me as well. I'm butchering this but he said I want Gethsemane to mean more then just words on a page. It really stuck out to me because how often do we read that part of the bible and are really not effected about what we read.  Then he read a little part of 3 Nephi 11 and he read it with so much passion it made me get goose bumps. He got tearie eyed when he read it. It was all just an amazing experience. That was the highlight of my week. =)  After we took a picture with the mission and he sat in on the picture and the camera guy was telling us " ok no hand signs and no Bunny Ears " and Elder Ballard said " Ya, or we will send you to Afghanistan"  We all laugh so hard. He is really funny. Before the Questions he said " Ok you can ask me anything. Just dont ask me where Kolob is because I dont know." We had a good time.  After that we went out to Eat with Uncle Scott and Aunt Christeen. We had a great time. =)

February 6, 2012

Hey momma,
I am having a blast here in the Boise Central Stake. Elder Anderson and I are getting along great and we have been working hard. We have some new investigators that are Golden. We are teaching a little girl who is 7 that wants to be baptized when she turns 8.  She was not raised up in the church.  Her name is Roxanne.  She is super darling and super smart!! Oh my goodness.  Her dad isn't a member.  So he said he was going to listen as well. And he said he wants to be baptized with his daughter. And he is super nice. Like the first time we meet him he offered to have us over for dinner if anyone dropped us. And we called one time to take up that offer and he said that they were all out and nobody was going to be home. And we said don't worry about it then he said alright but if I can get something arranged I'll give you a call.  And we said ok. 5 minutes later he calls and he said "Ok we are going to get you guys pizza. So where are you going to be in an hour?" He is an awesome guy.

One of our investigators is making me a Quilt!! I'm so excited. She finished it and I just have to get the money to pay her.  She said it was huge! I'm super excited. Ill take pictures and let you see it. =)

I love you a lot too. =)

It has been a great week. We are getting a lot done. I haven't met some of our investigators yet. They have been really busy. But of the ones I have met most of them want to be baptized!! Like there is this family that are refuges from the earthquakes in Japan. The mom is a member. She reminds me of Kalena.  It’s crazy and their son Rio, he reminds me so much of Jared when he was little, it’s awesome.  He had to only get his dads signature and a permission slip that he can be baptized. And his dad was here from Japan and he signed a form!!! So Rio is going to be baptized in February!! We ate dinner at their house on Thursday and we had tempura and rice and chicken! It was amazing. I haven't had real Asian food since I was at home!!!  Aside from eating at Chinese Restaurants. lol

Andy gave me Chop Sticks that look like samurai swords!!  I’m super excited. lol

But I am really enjoying the area. Elder Anderson (my new companion) is awesome! He is a great teacher and a great companion. He is new to the mission. I get the privilege to complete his training to be a missionary.  He is from Texas. We are getting along great.

I love you!!!

Say hi to everyone.
